Objective

The team wants to create a climate favourable to entrepreneurship, make the participants aware of the realities of the entrepreneur and inform them about the technical and financial resources available to start-up a business.

Entrepreneurship resource centre

We have a well organized office space and a computer available to help you prepare your documents. Thanks to the Local Development Centre’s collaboration, you can also have access to a variety of literature on entrepreneurship that can provide information, to increase your knowledge of starting a business. You also have access to different tools such as: telephone, fax, photocopier and Internet.

The Local Development Centre (CLD) and the Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) are working in association with the CREP and PYEM to better inform you, and to provide support in your future projects.

Youth Strategy Funds

·1 18-35 years old
·2 Maximum loan of 15 000$ for starting or expanding a business.
·3 No interests for the first 2 years.

Investment funds

·1 18 years +
·2 Maximum loan of 125 000$ for starting or expanding a business.
·3 Interest rates are based on the preferential rate of the Bank (p.s. interest rates are slightly higher because they are investment funds with a higher risk).

ERO Program (Outaouais rural Enterprise)

·1 18 years +
·2 Offered to more innovative projects in the Pontiac
·3 Maximum subsidy of 25 000$ or 75% (non-profit organizations) to 90% (private businesses) of costs to pay a consultant for a complete market research.

 STA Program (Self-employment program)

·1 18-35 years old
·2 Must be a recipient of social assistance … or
·3 Recipient of employment assistance (or have claimed in the past 3 years or the last 5 years for those who have been on maternity leave.)
·4 Demonstrate that the business will generate at least 10 000$ a year.
·5 A salary / allowance will be given to the entrepreneur :

a) 276$/week for 12 weeks
to elaborate the business plan.
b) If the project is accepted: 276$/week for 40 weeks to start the business.

Young Developer Program

·1 18-35 years old.
·2 Must be a first time business.
·3 Subsidy of 3 000 $ to 5 000$ to start a business, or study the market or to receive training.
·4 Business must create at least one full time position.

FLI (Local Investment funds)

·1 All ages.
·2 Minimum loan of 10 000$ to cover up to 50% of the start up costs.
·3 The entrepreneur must invest at least 15% of the total cost.

Conditions to all programs:

  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Be a Québec resident
    •
  • To start a business in the Pontiac.

 

      Before you start your business plan, it is recommended to compose the summary of your business plan by answering the following questions and then present it to a counsellor of the CLD or the SADC:

 Where (Where will your business be and the reasons why you chose that location)

 Why (What is the advantage of your business, why will customers choose your business)

 Who (Who is going to buy your products or services, who are the targeted customers)

 How (How will you distribute your products or services, How will you advertise your business, what is your logo)

 When (What would be the starting date of your business)

 How much (cost of your project, profit your will obtain, your personal financial assessment, the annual budget plan of your business)
