Inauguration

Let's take a look at the inauguration of the Marketplace on 19 October 1998, which was done by the Minister of State for Employment and Solidarity, Mrs. Louise Harel, the Minister of International Relations and the Minister responsible for the Outaouais Region, Mr. Sylvain Simard and the member for Pontiac, Mr. Robert Middlemiss. Many other personalities of the Pontiac were present at the ceremony.

SJC-Ice Storm

The Pontiac SJC-Ice Storm Project, paid for by Canada Human Resources Development, consisted in cleaning wood lots and pedestrian trails considerably damaged by the ice storm that took place in the region in January 1998.
The "Sortir du bois" project was made possible thanks to the "Fight against poverty through job reinsertion Fund"" programme of the department responsible for employment and solidarity.
